For some reason, this song has been playing heavily on my Ipod, so I thought I would use it as inspiration for my blog today.

I hadn’t posted anything in a while, because I’ve just been really busy, like most of us during the holidays.  While my day-to-day was absorbing my time, I didn’t focus much on writing.  But I as I sit here, listening to Kanye West, his words resonate with me:

Everything I’m not made me everything I am.

People talking —-, but when the —- hits the fan,

everything I’m not made me everything I am.

I definitely believe that, in order to succeed, you have to feel fear and push past it.  In order to continue growing, you have to be afraid, or feel uncomfortable with your next step and do it anyway.  I have no doubt that if your next step doesn’t scare you or make you uncomfortable, you are not aiming high enough.

But I also believe that we have to put ourselves in the best position to be successful based on our strengths.  What Kanye was saying in this classic hit of his, is that staying true to himself has helped him create his own niche.  And when you are in your own niche, when you have created your own lane, no one can compare or compete with you.  You give yourself the best opportunity to succeed.
